Evidence shows that COVID has
impacted greatly the mental health of young people.
Especially those with a lack
of social support and from ethnic minorities.
This has meant that average grades have decreased.
Well, most of us have not lived
through a pandemic, and there is so much we don't know about the impact on student’s
mental health.
We believe that teachers can only do so much, and
support is needed to help the students fill the gaps created by the pandemic.
Many different strategies have been put into
place, including extended learning times, summer schools, and tutoring.
We have yet to fully determine the impact of these
and the challenges that students and teachers will face, but we hope that
research and high-quality programs will help the students see a way forward.
